BladeShelter Data Center Technologies is the brand-new infrastructure program from Reichle & De-Massari (R&M). BladeShelter combines R&M's experience in data center equipment with the design know-how of R&M Tecnosteel.

BladeShelter clearly demonstrates what R&M means by integrated data center infrastructure solutions. It is the state-of-the-art for outfitting server rooms, computer halls, colocation data centers and enterprise data centers.

BladeShelter is a modular data center infrastructure platform with:
- Cabinets for 19 inch server racks, network distribution, etc.
- Enclosures for hot aisles and cold aisles
- Complete cubes for computer rooms
- Functional components such as intelligent PDU, sensors, monitoring systems, air condition, access control, smoke control, top-of-rack power distribution, cable ducts and cable management

All expandable with R&M's DCIM solution, fiber optic connectivity and the latest in high-density fiber optic patch panels and distribution frames.

How does BladeShelter support energy and cost reduction?

The key is: the design of the enclosures contributes to efficient cooling by strictly separating and optimally conditioning hot air streams and cold air streams.

This is ensured by cleverly designed profiles, panels, fins, brushes and air ducts. The more efficient this passive cooling in the cube and server cabinet, the less energy the data center needs. And the more costs it saves.

With optimally designed cold aisle containment, we estimate that energy consumption can be reduced by ten percent, according to our sources.

Better cooling with BladeShelter.

The BladeShelter program offers energy-efficient in-row cooling systems and scalable blade cooling modules. They are designed for high heat loads up to 42 kW. This means data centers can raise the operating temperature in computer halls, and so they need to cool less.

The door perforations of the BladeShelter cabinets also play a role. With a perforation level of 82%, they foster a high throughput of air for cooling.
