Recent restrictions on abortion access in Texas, Mississippi and other states, as well as potential challenges to Roe v. Wade in our nation’s highest courts, threaten to undermine access to—or even make illegal—crucial women’s reproductive health services. Legislation introduced in New Jersey, The Reproductive Freedom Act (S3030/A4848), will not only protect the right to abortion, but will also expand access to time-sensitive care, prioritizing the health and well-being of all New Jerseyans who need reproductive health care. Noelle Tutunjian, MSW, representative of the Thrive New Jersey coalition, joins NASW-NJ for this Community Conversation that reviews the provisions of the RFA, its importance to residents of New Jersey, and how social workers and other concerned persons can support this legislation and help ensure it becomes law in our state.
