Scientists have suggested that, due to their low risk of serious illness, under-40s should be allowed to mix freely and contract coronavirus in a bid to build up natural immunity which they say is stronger than any given by a vaccine and would ultimately lead to less transmission in the wider community. Under the suggestion, those over 65 would follow stay-at-home orders when outbreaks occur, while 40 to 64-year-olds could fill out a simple Covid-19 risk calculator, which gives a personalised score based on overall health, and make a decision accordingly. Is this the way to get Britain back on its feet?
