Dunrobin Castle is on the north west coast of Scotland and home to the Earls and Dukes of Sutherland. Parts of the castle date back to 1275 and it is the biggest house in the highlands with 189 rooms but no photography is allowed inside the Caste. The gardens were laid out by Sir Charles Barry in 1850 and although on the coast they are quite sheltered and pleasant to walk around.
It rained that morning but the sun came out at lunch time and we saw no more rain for the next 10 days of the holiday in Scotland.
