Lockdown In Bengaluru, ‘No Such Proposal’ BBMP Commissioner Manjunath Prasad....,
Dr K Sudhakar, the Medical Education Minister for Government of Karnataka, on Thursday rejected rumours which claimed that the state government could once again impose coronavirus-induced lockdown in Karnataka.
There was no such proposal before the Karnataka government to re-impose lockdown, asserted Dr K Sudhakar.
While talking to the media, Sudhakar clarified that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did recommend imposing the lockdown during his conversation with the representatives of some of the states on Wednesday. However, it was not compulsory for any state, added the Karnataka minister.
"It was more of a suggestion from his side rather than a direction. Moreover, I do not see any reason to implement it in Karnataka," he further said.
Sudhakar, while citing PM Modi, said that it was important for the state governments to focus more on the micro-containment zones. "It was a fruitful discussion. Let none should misinterpret or misguide people in the state or elsewhere. There will be no seal down also," said Sudhakar.
