Hot on the heels of last Saturdays visit of the Black Five during the 1940s event: [ Ссылка ]
and making only its second visit after breaking new ground in July: [ Ссылка ] we took a trip to the West Somerset Railway today for the luxury Midland Pullman HST set, working the 1Z71 ‘Exmoor Coast Pullman', through from Carnforth. 43047 + 43046 'Geoff Drury 1930-1999 Steam Preservation and Computerised Track Recording Pioneer' were in charge.
We first see the luxury set arriving early into Bishops Lydeard, passing the stored 2+4 GWR HST with power cars 43154 + 43155, before it passes through Washford and arrives into Minehead, looking resplendent in the September sunlight.
Mogul 9351 and 7812 ‘Erlestoke Manor’ were in charge of the steam services today and we find the train being serviced at Minehead in preparation for the return 1Z72 run to Carnforth.
We then follow the set back, firstly through Blue Anchor and finally as it passes Williton and heads for the Mainline!
