STORYLINE:
Mourners gathered on Sunday around the bodies of a family of eight - including a woman and children - who were killed by an Israeli airstrike in central Gaza overnight.
The bodies of the two parents and their six children - aged between 23 and 8 - were taken to al-Aqsa Martyrs hospital that confirmed the number of victims.
An Associated Press journalist also counted the bodies.
The strike late on Saturday hit a house in the urban Nusseirat refugee camp, health authorities said.
Several injured were also taken to Al Aqsa Martyrs hospital, located in Deir al Balah, some of them in a serious condition.
More than 42,000 people have been killed in the one year war in Gaza, according to the health ministry in the Strip that does not differentiate between civilians and militants.
The Israeli offensive in Gaza started following the Hamas' attack to communities in Southern Israel where about 1,200 people were killed and 250 were taken hostages.
About 100 of them remain in captivity in Gaza, some believed to be dead.
