In 1983 The Golden Age of the Xylophone was originally arranged especially for percussionist Randy Eyles and the United States Air Force Band by its former chief arranger Floyd Werle. The piano reduction was originally completed by Randall Eyles in august,1983. The first performance of this piano-xylophone version was February 4 1989,at The Catholic University of America in Washington,D.C.The piano-xylo version was prepared by Floyd Werle in June 1990.
