In today's episode I wanted to give you a tour of Holyrood Palace - the official home of The Queen, here in Scotland. I'll also be sharing a delicious sloe gin cocktail that I think you will love.

The recipe for the Sloe Gin Cocktail:
1/2 ounces Gin
1/2 ounce Sloe Gin
1 teaspoon maraschino liqueur
3/4 ounce lemon juice
1/2 ounce berry syrup (recipe below)
Crushed Ice
Shake both gins, maraschino liqueur, lemon juice, and syrup with cubed ice until chilled. Strain into a glass filled with crushed ice. To garnish, spear the berries on a pick and lay across the rim of the glass.
To make the berry syrup use 1 cup of berries of your choosing (I used 1/2 cup of raspberries and 1/2 a cup of blackberries. Add to a saucepan with 2 cups of superfine sugar. Smash the berries into the sugar using the back of a spoon. Add 1 cup of water and put onto a low heat, stirring occasionally until the sugar is dissolved. Do not let the syrup come to a boil otherwise you will lose the freshness of the berries. Strain the liquid through a sieve and let chill for at least 20 minutes. You can use what you need and store the rest in the freezer.
