If Kenya has its way, the Daadab refugee camp, which hosts over 200,000 refugees, could soon be closed. The last time the Kenyan government threatened to close down the camp was in April 2015, shortly after a gruesome terrorist attack on Garissa University. Six years later, Kenya is giving the UNHCR 14 days to map out the closure of the camps permanently, leaving little room for dialogue. Diplomacy experts say that while Kenya is acting within its rights, its decision will have far reaching consequences.
