For about 70 years there is a solid causeway to Holy Island. It situated in the north of England, near the border with Scotland. Lindisfarne welcomes each year about 650.000 people who like to enjoy the nature of the island. Every day the road to the island disappears under the north sea and five hours later the high water is gone.
The road to the island has been there always because Lindisfarne is a semi island. People were always able to walk to the mainland during low tide.
