Extreme heat doesn't stop sanitation workers from picking up your trash. Republic Services will be running residential routes earlier in the day for the next few weeks to allow drivers to finish their routes and get out of the worst of heat, that often comes in the afternoon. Republic Services recommends people put their trash cans on the curb the night before trash day, as some routes will be picked up as early at 5:30 am. Sanitation workers also appreciate you putting your trash cans in a shaded area if possible and a cold drink is always welcome on a hot day.
