On April 25 2018, Roberto Unger came to the OECD for a day of discussion co-organised by Nesta on “Inclusive Vanguardism”, with the OECD Secretary-General, Chief of Staff and Ambassadors and parliamentarians from OECD countries. He debated his thesis that the knowledge economy can and should be established in a socially inclusive form, rather than in the form that it now takes which is its confinement to insular vanguards. The following day, he gave this interview to William Hynes, Head of the OECD New Approaches to Economic Challenges (NAEC) Initiative.
