Alas Kedaton holy monkey forest is one the most popular monkey forest in Bali. Alas Kedaton or "Holy Monkey Forest" is a small Forest measuring about 12, 00 ha and there are hundreds of monkeys and high up on the big trees many bats ate hanging and singing with their loud voices. Visitors are assisted by a local guide who knows the area around the forest . The species of monkeys that live in Alas Kedaton Forest is the crab-eating macaque (the scientific name is Macaca Fascicularis), also known as the long-tailed macaque .The monkeys in the Kedaton forest are very friendly but visitors are always be advised to take care their belongings and not stay too close with the monkeys because sometimes they can also attack when they feel disturbed.
In this Forest is an old temple, Dalem Kahyangan Kedaton Temple, which is one of the important and attractive temples amongst thousand of temples all over Bali.
