You don’t have to have a flat tummy… in fact, the idea that a woman must have a “flat tummy” to be beautiful & healthy is setting us all up for failure. The terms “tummy pooch” “lower belly bump” “fat rolls” etc are used in such negative ways but it’s literally such a normal part of the human body that MOST of us will have & never be rid of — no matter how much we k*ll ourselves in the kitchen OR in the gym.
Hands up in the comments if you have a belly bump and/or a habit of “sucking in” too! 🙋🏻♀️ Here’s your sign to appreciate your body for what it does for you more! + bellies are cute 🫶 more content like this on my lG: @breeelenehan
We all have ✨ extra padding ✨ to protect our vital organs, keep us warm, keep our hormones regulating, our minds happy & our bodies healthy!!! Be kinder to yourself, nourish your body with food, movement you enjoy & gentle thoughts… Don’t let that lower belly bump or bloat stop you from feeling good about yourself.
I’ve had a habit of sucking in since I was 10yo when I saw magazine covers plastered with headlines about “how to get a flat tummy in 3 days” & bodies being shamed — I’m not saying that sucking in is inherently bad btw — but believing that you look bad if you have belly fat is a ✨ bad habit ✨ & I STILL have to consciously remind myself to just relax, breathe & let my belly out bc it’s something I’ve done for so long… BUT the more we see real bodies, the more we normalise them & the more other girls will feel comfortable to be themselves too! 🤍
