At the time, this banh mi stand was listed as open at 10:30am, so that’s when I made my first attempt. I was then told by someone there to come back at 1:30p…so I did, but still no luck. Finally, at 5:30p, I made my way back and there it was 🥹

And why was I so hellbent on this spot when there are hundreds of other banh mi places in Hanoi? Well, for one, if I get wind of any place that’s “underrated”, it’s immediately bumped up on my list. Also, I was told that this was the place to go if you appreciated simplicity and really good meat — 🎯🎯🎯

The meat was juicy and flavorful and the bread was crisp and SO soft. I will 1000% get this again when I’m back in Hanoi (but add 1-2 more skewers).

Because this was such non-traditional banh mi, I went to another spot the next day to compare. Stay tuned!
