Many of the bands Gearwire has interviewed lately sing the praises of in-ear monitoring systems. Gary Numan uses them, so does Head Automatica guitarist Craig Bonitch. These systems have a rep for being pricey, but the entry level units are getting more affordable by the day. Shure's entry-level PSM 200 in-ear system is mono-only, but features a bodypack reciever that can act as both a wired or wireless unit. You can also connect two line-level or mic-level inputs into the transmitter, which lets a singer to adjust the mic signal to hear themselves better. What singer doesn't want "more me"?
