South African Cellar Worker of the Year in 2010, Adam Alexander, says the programme has definitely opened doors for him on his career path in as barrel cellar manager at Rupert & Rothschild Vignerons in Franschhoek.

The industry body for research and technology transfer, Winetech, presents annual study groups for cellar workers in the South African wine industry for free. The top performers in these study groups are identified and as part of the SA Cellar Worker Programme undergo further evaluation.
The SA Cellar Worker of the Year and two runners up are announced at a Cellar Worker Information Day - a gala event and further information transfer platform for cellar workers.
The top three winners each year form part of the Circle of Excellence, a programme for further knowledge sharing, mentoring and support.
Winetech presents the study groups, the VinPro Foundation makes the SA Cellar Worker Programme possible, and Nedbank sponsors the Cellar Worker Information Day.
