Storm Ciara (named by Met Eireann) battered the UK on 9 Feb 2020. The winter storm resulted in Amber warnings across most of the UK for gale-force winds and heavy rain. This aviation video captures aircraft as they land and depart London Stansted Airport during the Storm. Winds were gusting at over 45kts, and resulted in a lot of missed approaches and go-arounds, although the vast majority of those decisions were taken some way out from the airfield making them impossible to film. There were a lot of diversions from London Luton airport, at least one from Birmingham and a few from Gatwick as a result of conditions at those airports.

As you will appreciate, filming in such conditions is not easy and we always have to be mindful of safety, despite using a number of wind shields on the microphone the strength of the winds resulted in some difficult sound capture.
That said, I hope you will enjoy watching this video as it features a lot of aircraft landing and departing and many less frequent visitors to London Stansted.
