One student died and 168 others sustained injuries following a security scare at the University of Nairobi’s kikuyu campus. Several students jumped through the windows of their hostel rooms while many more were caught up in a stampede as they run away following an explosion from a power transformer which they mistook for a terror attack. One student is still admitted in hospital in critical condition while four have undergone surgery.
