Adam: What's going on, everybody Adam here with etrailer. Today, we're going to be taking a look at the Erickson Easy Tie-Down Ratchet Straps with Release Levers. As you guys can see, I have a Sportsman 570, and I need to tie it down. I'm not going anywhere with it like this so I'm going to go ahead and use these. They're going to be about 10-foot long, perfect for what I'm doing. They are going to be about two inches wide and they are going to have a working load limit of 13 hundred and 33 pounds.
The Sportsman weighs about 700 pounds so when we have three to four of these on there, it's going to be plenty so let's just go ahead and do it. I'm going to use the Double J hook here. It is coated, which is nice so I don't have to worry about scratching up my 4-wheeler, pretty much just tie it down like you tie down anything else. Pretty self-explanatory.And I really do like the coating that they put on the ratchet strap itself. It's going to resist against rust and corrosion over time, and I do like the molded little release lever, and of course just having some sort of material on that metal to make it a little bit more forgiving on my hands is a plus.
Now that we've got that one done, it's pretty simple. And all we really need to do to unload it is just push this little lever. It's really, really simple and release it really quickly so I can get my quad unloaded and get on the trails.Well, I have the whole entire back all tied down, which is great, but we need to tie down the front. Luckily with the weight that we're dealing with now and the weight capacity of the straps themselves, we're well over what we really need to be to haul safely. So I'm actually just going to go ahead and just use one for the front, just because we do have a seven and a half foot trailer, and it is the perfect amount of length for strap for that kind of trailer so if you guys have one this size a 10-foot strap is plenty if not ideal.
We don't have a whole lot of extra we need to mess with so I probably won't even use this third or fourth strap. Same deal, tie it down. Now we're pretty much ready to go. I'm not going to use this one, but the only feature we haven't gone over is just the break strength, about 4,000 pounds. But with what we have tied down today, everything is nice and safe, tied down properly.
Now we're ready to hit the road.Well, everyone, that just about does it for a look at the Erickson Easy Ratchet Tie-Down Straps with Release Levers, and remember, always haul safely.
