BUNCOMBE COUNTY, N.C. -- Health officials say the pertussis outbreak is growing in Buncombe County.
Two weeks ago, 19 cases were reported in the county, but this number has grown to 25.
Pertussis, also known as whooping cough, is a highly contagious respiratory disease.
Health officials say the most important defense is to get immunized.
