A warm comfort charu, best for winter. Can be consumed year long though.
My apologies in advance, for the inconsistent sound quality! It’s the holidays time and working along side with kids, I needed to make adjustments and shift places a few times during voice recording😊.
Ingredients:
- 1 C - horse gram / Ulavalu
- Water to boil the horse gram- about 5-6 cups or as needed
- about 15 tamarind pods
- 2tbsp coriander seeds
- 1/4tsp fenugreek or methi seeds
- 6-8 green chillies. I used two jalapenos in the video
- 1tsp cumin seeds for toasting
- 1tsp cumin seeds for tempering
- 1 tsp mustard seeds
- salt
- 3tbsp sucanat sugar or jaggery
- 1/2 onion, chopped
- 4 cloves
- 4 red dry chillies
- some oil
- Ginger and garlic - optional. If you choose to add, add just a very small amount
