Rev. Nontombi Naomi Tutu, the daughter of Archbishop Rev. Desmond Tutu, joins "Black News Tonight" to discuss her father's 90th birthday and South Africa's "historic journey from an apartheid state to a multiracial democracy."
“I think that the legacy is one that we see in so many people around the world who has this commitment to our common humanity,” Naomi Tutu describing her father’s legacy.
President Joe Biden commented on Archbishop Tutu's 90th birthday, saying:
"The world first came to know Archbishop Tutu as he modeled the highest tenets of his faith in challenging the injustice of apartheid in South Africa. His courage and moral clarity at that time helped inspire my own commitment as a United States senator to change American policy toward the apartheid regime in South Africa. And in the years since, the world has continued to learn from Archbishop Tutu's message of justice, equality, and reconciliation."
