The exhibition is dedicated to the 20th anniversary of the premiere of Pyotr Tchaikovsky's ballet The Nutcracker at the Mariinsky Theatre based on a fairy tale by Ernst Hoffmann. It was designed by the artist Mikhail Shemyakin. Sketches for scenery and costumes, sculptural images of characters and video footage of the preparation of this production are presented.
