Ebony fingerboard / Maple banjo
This vintage 1970's Vega resonator banjo has two brand logos. The main one is on the face of the Rosewood peghead veneer, and shows Vega logo decal at top. On the back of the peghead is a Martin and Company decal. Tuners are original pre-War style "pancake" with matching white buttons. 5th tuner is the original friction peg with metal button. Original Vega 5th string capo mounted on the side of the fingerboard. Ebony flat fingerboard is bound with cream binding and has position dot inlay markers. Back and top of resonator bound with matching cream binding. Maple resonator with beautiful figure and nice stained finish.
Banjo has a multi-laminate Maple rim with Shoe and Plate construction. 24 hooks and nuts. Double co-ordinator rods for adjusting with ease. Martin & Company decal affixed inside the rim just above the serial number. Adjustable tailpiece looks original. It appears that all of the parts are original, but we can't guarantee this. There is significant fretwear in the first position on the 2nd and 3rd frets.
Except for oxidation on the metal parts, this banjo would be excellent + or exceptional condition. This is a great price to get into a nice vintage banjo made in America by Martin!
Comes with original hard case.
