Graduate students at Concordia were tested recently on their ability to clearly and concisely present their research projects to a non-specialist audience during the annual Three Minute Thesis competition (3MT). Concordia is the only English-language university in Quebec that holds a 3MT competition. Winners are chosen at both the Masters and PhD levels, and the crowd votes for the People's Choice Awards. The best French-language presenter goes on to represent Concordia at a French version of the contest held during the annual ACFAS (Association Francophone Pour le Savoir) Congress. This year, noted alumni Mustsumi Takahashi and Gina Cody joined Vice-Provost, Teaching and Learning Ollivier Dyens to judge the final round. The winners were:
Idir Guermah - l'Acfas Winner
Navid Sharifi - PhD Winner
Nassim Tabri - PhD Runner Up Winner
Kiran Vadaga - PhD Runner Up Winner
Josine Lafontaine - Master Winner
Pierre Chuard - Master Runner Up Winner
Dalia Challita - Final People's Choice Winner
Maniya Aghasibeig - Heat 1 People's Choice Winner
