On Tuesday, April 5, 2016, the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget and the Miller Center at the University of Virginia hosted the 2016 Mortimer Caplin Conference. This program focused on fiscal issues facing the next president and featured welcoming remarks by Bill Antholis, Director and CEO of the Miller Center, and Maya MacGuineas, President of the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget. It was then followed by a discussion entitled "Lessons from History - Budget Policy in the First Year" moderated by Ann Compton of ABC News with two former directors of the Office of Management and Budget: Mitch Daniels (OMB Director 2001-2003) and Alice Rivlin (OMB Director 1993-1996).
