This is my new, 10 minute loop of the 1964 version of the it's a small world Middle East audio. This audio was first used at the 1964-65 New York World's Fair in the Asia room, then Disneyland from 1966 until 1993, and has been remastered there since 2003. It has also been at Walt Disney World and Tokyo Disneyland since 1971 and 1983 respectively, however until 2017 the Tokyo version used this audio in North Africa, which has also been the case at WDW since 1971. This differed from the other versions (As well as current Tokyo) which use it in the Asia room. Technically, both uses make sense as the Middle East comprises many countries in West Asia and North Africa. Despite that, I used pictures from the World's Fair and Disneyland versions to make the countries more consistent (The former set pieces and audio were shipped to the latter location in 1965-66). This is one of many compositions by Bobby Hammack and his orchestra for the 1964 Worlds Fair version. At Disneyland, the audio was first removed in 1993 when they entirely removed the original soundtrack and installed the 1992 John Debney Disneyland Paris soundtrack. However, although Paris has always had its own unique Arabic Vocals and instrumentals, these were mostly never used in Disneyland in 1993-2002, with the exception of a relatively simple Tambourine for those dolls. I actually uploaded the full 1993 version in another video. The Debney soundtrack has six verses instead of the original three, but this Hammack version of the Middle East audio in particular really sounds much better and more intricate, with many more instruments being played. Thankfully, in February 2003 they restored and remastered this classic audio, which has played with little changes since then. There is one change that I don't care for, which is the "addition" of Aladdin's Whole New World music alongside this audio since the 2008-09 refurbishment. Nothing against that animated film, but I really think the character dolls and music are pointless and don't make the ride any better. This video includes many rotating pictures and screenshots of the Middle East scene, the first three at the 1964-65 World's Fair, and the rest of the Disneyland version. The Disneyland images that follow are in chronological order, from 1966 (× 2), 1967, 1960's (Undated), 1970's (Undated), 1976, 1977, 1979, 1987 (× 2), 1992, & 2007, before my 7 2022-23 ones. The original scene at Disneyland hasn't really seen very many noticeable changes since 1966, with the exception of the lighting having various improvements and downgrades over time. The Israeli boy behind the Tambourine dolls was added around 1978-79. As always, the great artistry and music make a memorable scene. I hope you enjoy this classic audio loop!
I do not own any of the audio or any of the pre-2022 images used in this video. All audio is owned by Disney, and all images are owned by their respective owners.
