Health Canada says the benefits of the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine still far outweigh the risks.
The latest comments come following a safety review of the vaccine following the country's first case of a new and extremely rare blood clotting syndrome that may be linked to the shot.
The woman, who received the AstraZeneca vaccine in Quebec, is now recovering.
Health Canada says there is no evidence showing certain people are more at risk than others and the vaccine will remain authorized for all adults.
Doctors say the chance of developing a blood clot and dying from COVID-19 are much higher than getting it from the vaccine. This comes as Canada reports its' first blood clot linked to the AstraZeneca vaccine.
The conclusions are in line with findings issued in Europe and the United Kingdom last week.
The National Advisory Committee on Immunization is currently recommending the vaccine not be used on anyone under the age of 55.
