Falafel Cheese Balls from Maimoona Yasmeen's Recipes
Ingredients:
Chickpeas/kabuli chana: 250 grams
Cheese cubes: as per the requirement
Onion: 1 (abt 100 grams)
Salt: 1 1/2 tsp (or as per the taste)
Garlic cloves: 7
Red chilli powder: 1 1/2 tsp
Coriander powder/dhaniya powder: 1/2 tsp
Cumin powder/zeera powder: 1/2 tsp
Whole green chillies: 3
Chopped coriander: 2 tbsp
Chickpea flour/besan: 2 tbsp
Oil: for frying
Procedure:
1. Soak chickpeas overnight.
2. Next morning, strain its water.
3. Add salt, peeled garlic cloves, red chilli powder, coriander powder, cumin powder, whole green chillies, chopped coriander and chopped onion to chickpeas.
4.. Grind all these together without using water, into a paste.
5. Add chickpea flour or besan to the paste. Mix well.
6. Take a portion from the mixture and spread into the form of a patty.
7. Place a cheese cube at the centre, seal and mold in the form of a ball.
8. Repeat with the other falafel balls.
9. Deep fry the balls into the hot oil, till they turn brown and crisp.
Falafel Cheese Balls are ready. Either serve with tomato sauce or pudine ki chutney (mint chutney) or serve with any chutney of your choice.
