I recently got a taste of riding rock rolls on my last visit to Hawes Trail system. Since then, Ive been seeking out a place where I can ride some bigger rocks slab and try to conquer some rocky technical terrain.
Brown's Ranch in Scottsdale Arizona seemed to fit the bill perfectly. This trail system offered some challenging, bumpy, techy mountain biking in the form of huge rock slabs.
we started at Fraesfield trailhead and made our way out to Diablo trail to ride the rocky tech features. along the way we found some really sweet views and I believe this Ranch may be home to some of the oldest and most unique Saguaro cacti. At least, they're the biggest ones I've seen so far. I also had a close encounter with a killer Cholla cactus. But, luckily, the locals carry pliers just for such occasions.
Overall, Brown's Ranch was an awesome and unique experience. It may not be the fastest trail system or offer a ton of negative elevation. But what it lacks in speed or techy rock gardens, it makes up for with a unique offering of rock slabs and stunning views.
I had an absolute blast on today's adventure and I hope you enjoy watching .
