In the heart of 2,000 hectares of lush forest, discover Inhotim, an astonishing garden where the grandeur of the artworks is matched only by the scale of Brazilian nature. In the 1980s, a wealthy entrepreneur, Bernardo Paz, saved these humid hills from mineral exploitation to create the largest open-air museum in Latin America. Since then, artworks have been accumulating there, discreet or extravagant, nestled among the foliage. Here, there is no starting point, no predefined path; visitors are invited to wander and contemplate: from the bulbous trunks of elephant-foot palms to the overflowing, sculptural octopus agaves, the vegetation intertwines with the monumental installations of renowned artists like Giuseppe Penone and Tunga. Where does nature end and art begin? Inhotim establishes a new dialogue between the environment and creation.
