This year’s launch of Project ERASE — Eliminate Racing Activities on Streets Everywhere — is the ongoing effort of York Regional Police and other law enforcement agencies across Ontario to reduce street racing and stunt driving. A 19-year-old, on May 12, tried to elude police after doing donuts, driving over 180km/h and leading police by hiding in an underground. York’s Air2 helicopter tracked him and police arrived as he was removing his licence plates.
