Quick facts about the Linnet. A slender built finch with a forked tail, males are known for their striking red breast and forehead during the breeding season. They feed mostly on seeds, especially those of dandelions, thistles, and other wildflowers, but they may also eat small insects.
Sadly, Linnets are listed on the UK Conservation Red List since 1996, having declined by more than 50% since 1970.
