A Syrian jet has crashed in Damascus, and reports of what caused the crash are conflicting. The Syrian military says the jet crashed due to a mechanical fault, with the pilot ejecting before the crash, while the ISIL-affiliated Aamaq news agency has posted footage of a crashed jet plane, believed to have been shot down by Islamic State militants. They claim they captured the pilot after the aircraft was downed near Damascus.
