4-H and FFA youth show their sheep. In the showmanship classes, youth are judged on their ability to handle and present their sheep. Showmen are divided into classes based on age. In breed classes, the sheep are evaluated on their conformation (skeletal and muscular structures) desirable for their breed. Lancaster County Born and Raised market class is for sheep born and raised on Lancaster County land. A special needs showmanship class for the Unified Showing 4-H club is now in its second year.
