Tammineni Sitaram, a former TDP leader from Srikakulam district, formally joined the YSR Congress party. He served 5 times as MLA and served as a minister for 9 years. He was also a government whip for one full term. Later, he joined the Praja Rajyam Party, and quit it after its merger with the Congress.
He re-joined the TDP, but developed differences with TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu on the party's stand on the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh.
He finally resigned from the TDP, and decided to join the YSR Congress party, took the membership of the YSRCP in the presence of the party's honorary president Y S Vijayamma.
