The Retirement Travelers journey east from Colorado in their retirement travel towards Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art in Bentonville, Arkansas. Along the way they stop in Wamego, Kansas, at the Oz Museum and the three state marker for Kansas, Missouri and Oklahoma. The Crystal Bridges museum has been a bucket list item for many years and certainly didn’t disappoint. It was founded in 2005 by philanthropist and arts patron Alice Walton as a nonprofit charitable organization for all to enjoy. The building was designed by world-renowned architect Moshe Safdie, opened to the public on 11-11-11 and has free admission. Many wonderful masterpieces of American art are on display such as Chihuly glasswork. There is also a spectacular example of Frank Lloyd Wright houses that was relocated to Crystal Bridges. Crystal Bridges Museum should be on your travel bucket list.

ABOUT US:

As the #retirementtravelers, we have always dreamed of traveling, but we never in a million years thought we would become #travelvloggers and start a YouTube channel. But, that is what we did! We work hard every day to become better and create something that others will enjoy. Having a community of friends, old and new, follow our journey is fun and exciting to us.

In 2019, we achieved our goal of visiting every state in the union in our Airstream. We also visited every national park in the lower 48. We are big believers in lists, so of course we plan to see the remaining 12 parks in the next few years.

In 2021, we made the big decision to extreme downsize to just a suitcase and a small backpack, each. We started our journey around the world beginning in Central America. We hope that over the next ten years, we will have seen many beautiful things, made many memories and new friends, and shared the experience with our children and grandchildren.
