A second Victorian Labor MP has resigned following branch stacking allegations which saw Premier Daniel Andrews sack Adem Somyurek.
Assistant treasurer Robin Scott said his resignation was best as he did not want to burden the state government while an investigation was underway.
Mr Scott said he was “very confident” an investigation would clear him of any wrongdoing.
Mr Scott was a close factional ally of Adem Somyurek who was sacked on Monday following allegations of branch stacking and of making derogatory comments about his colleagues.
Cabinet minister Marlene Kairouz has also been accused of encouraging branch-stacking activities.
