Many fans are wondering if the upcoming Ahsoka series will serve as the long-awaited fifth season of Rebels. Dave Filoni, the mastermind behind it all, has teased us by saying, "That's one way of looking at it." It seems like the Ahsoka series will not only continue the story we know and love but also pave the way for Filoni's upcoming feature film. In an article released by Entertainment Weekly, Jon Favreau compared exploring the time period between the original and sequel trilogies to playing with action figures as a kid.

Favreau also shared that he turned to the expanded universe comic books and novels when only Episodes 4, 5, and 6 existed, and that now they are making decisions on fitting everything together. Legends materials have already influenced various Disney Star Wars projects in the past - yes, cloned Palpatine, we’re looking at you. In that same article, Kathleen Kennedy hinted that they are drawing from a lot of sources.

Personally, I'm hoping they incorporate elements from Timothy Zahn's original Thrawn trilogy into their upcoming projects. But it's important to remember that they have an entirely different story to tell. So, what events and characters from the old Expanded Universe would you like to see brought into Star Wars canon?
