ISO 11930 : Preservative Efficacy Test of Cosmetics
ISO 11930 specifies a procedure to evaluate preservation efficacy and microbiological risk assessment of cosmetic products. The objective of ISO 11930 is to ensure overall antimicrobial protection of cosmetic products for end users.
ISO 11930 is applicable to water soluble/miscible cosmetic products.
ISO 11930 test method steps involved -
Inoculation - ISO 11930 begins with inoculation of the cosmetic product sample with mandatory test microorganisms.
Incubation - Inoculated samples are kept at room temperature in the incubator for a total time period of 28 days.
Serial dilution and plating - Recovered incubated samples are subjected to serial dilution, followed by plating and incubation to enumerate viable test microbes.
Observation : For each time point, microbial growth, and log reduction values are calculated, and compared to the minimum values for the evaluation criteria.
MIS caters to the needs of cosmetic/ personal care manufacturing companies by assessing microbiological quality of their products to ensure the compliance with industry standards.
Our dedicated focus is to provide timely services while ensuring reproducibility in our testing evaluations.
Under our cosmetic testing portfolio, we offer various test methods - ISO 21149, ISO 21150, ISO 22717, ISO 16212, USP-61, USP 62 and more.
