I took the boat from Evian to Lausanne, then the train from Lausanne to Montreux, which is often dubbed as the Swiss Riviera. It stretches from Lausanne to Montreux and encompasses the beautiful Lavaux vineyards perched on steep hills with a dramatic view of the lake and the Alps on the other side. I used to live in Montreux for 4 years; it is famous for its Montreux Jazz Festival, and of course, the statue of Freddie Mercury.
