Did you know that Slovenia is the first country in the world that has built a public beer fountain? Seriously! It was opened 6th September 2016. The Green Gold Fountain is a tribute to the hop growing heritage of the Lower Savinja Valley and Žalec. But wait! Before packing your bags you should know that it is not free-flowing beer paradise. If you want to taste one of the 6 different beers they offer, you will have to pay 8€ for a special mug, made from a microchipped glass. When you place it under the nozzle of the pump, the chip will be scanned and your 1dl of the selected beer will be poured automatically.
