A man shot by Columbus police officers during a traffic stop in February on Manchester Expressway in Columbus, Georgia told media his side of the story at a Thursday morning press conference.
Jermaine Hernandez told the media he woke up late on February 7 and got his son dressed and took him to school. After taking his son to school he stopped by his house to pick up his phone before heading to work as a security guard.
He was traveling along Manchester Expressway and had passed the Miller Road exit when he noticed a police vehicle on the side of the road. He said he moved over and slowed down causing his vehicle to make a popping noise. As he drove past the police vehicle the vehicle pulled out and cut the lights on, according to Hernandez.
