This was an open competition with added money. There were less than 60 ropers competing in the event. I do not know how that number compares to previous years since this was my first year to cover it. The number of competitors does affect the total payouts. #SpicerGripp #SteerRoping #CowHorses
Spicer Gripp was a Hereford, TX resident who loved helping kids. Friends of Spicer got together to start the memorial roping in 1994 and the Spicer Gripp Memorial Event Center made its debut in 2001.
