From the Old Republic era, to the Skywalker saga, the Star Wars Galaxy has never been short of very powerful armies. Determining which is the most powerful is pretty difficult. Based on size alone, the CIS is the clear winner, with legends sources claiming that the droid army was comprised of quintillions of droids, an order of magnitude higher than the entire population of the galaxy. However, fortunately for the Republic, Palpatine prevented the droids from being utilised fully. However, as Yoda once said, size matters not. Although large, the droid army was ineffective. Thus, the title of the most powerful Star Wars army likely goes to the Yuuzhan Vong, whose vast array of ships comparable to the death star in size and power devastated the Galaxy, leading to the deaths of over 365 trillion beings.
