The Boss PN-2 Tremolo/Pan is one of the most treasured pieces in my pedal library. I've had it for over a decade, and it's been around the world on tour with me, as well as appearing on recording sessions from time to time. They have become a very sought after piece, and as a result, the prices are through the roof. So with modern technology being what it is, I thought it was time to see if there was a digital alternative out there so I might keep my PN-2 from being beaten up on the road anymore.
I shoot out the Line6 HX Stomp clone of the PN-2, and load the signal chain full of cool pedals that inlcude: The Iron Ether Dubterranea and Xerograph Deluxe, the Eventide H9, and the TC Electronic Hall Of Fame 2. The combination of all of these pedals is something I've never heard before, and I think you might find some sounds you've never heard before either.
At the end of the day, it's all about the music, and trying to make the pedals work for us to create whatever sounds we hear in our head. Let me know in the comments if you've tried either the Boss PN-2 Tremolo/Pan or the HX Stomp clone of that pedal on bass!
