here I put the morimoto 4 banger hxb in combo beam head to head with the Diode Dynamics SS3 pro combo beam.

pricing- the morimotos are very nice lights with great output but very pricey, and I will tell you that they are overpriced. The 4 banger HXB (brightest they make and brightest on the market supposedly) comes in at 500 bucks without brackets, yes brackets are extra where Diode dynamics comes with brackets. Add the brackets and the harness and you're pushing 600 bucks. Luckily, it's a standard DT connector so instead of paying 85 for a morimoto harness, you can buy a 15 dollar ones off Amazon. Can't go wrong with them, my only gripe is price. They pack a punch for only 3 diodes!
For Diode dynamics, the pros come in at $350 for brackets and a harness which is extremely hard to beat for the output you get and what they cost. You can even buy the max for $500 and its STILL cheaper than the HXBs! Plus they have a back lit option.
Verdict, I don't think one is brighter than the other. Totally different beam patterns even though both are combo beam. The morimoto shines further and has more throw but the diode shines wider and has much more foreground8k light. I need to swap lenses to find the same beam pattern for both pods to have a more solid answer as to which is actually brighter. My opinion, the Diode dynamics SS3s are hard to beat because of pricing. Both are fantastic lights. Diode dynamics being a middle of the road output for them vs the brightest pod that morimoto makes, did very well.
