Last week we came across an XDA report, which revealed three new Xiaomi device codenamed “pyxis”, “bamboo_sprout”, and “cosmos_sprout”. All three feature in-display fingerprint sensors, with the latter two run on Android One, leading us to believe they will eventually go official as Mi A3 and Mi A3 lite. The “pyxis” should be the next Xioami X phone - a toned down version of the flagship following in the footsteps of the Mi 6X. And today we got to learn the specs of that alleged Mi 9X.
According to the leak, the Mi 9X will feature a waterdrop notch 6.4" FHD AMOLED display with a 32MP selfie cam and in-display fingerprint sensor. It will be powered by a Snapdragon 675 just as the Redmi Note 7 Pro, in this case paired with 6 GB RAM and 64GB storage.
The phone will have a triple camera setup on its back with 48MP (main), 13MP (wide), and 8MP (likely telephoto) sensors. Software-wise it will be running MIUI 10 on top of Android 9 Pie. The battery will have 3,300 mAh capacity and support 18W fast charging.
We can expect the Mi A3 to feature similar specs as the Mi 9X, while the Mi A3 lite will probably lower the screen resolution and opt for a lesser chipset. Mi 9X pricing is expected to start at 1699 yuan ($250/€220) and should release sometime in April.
